The Silsden Bonfire night 2011 was an enormous success this year with us being blessed with a crisp clear November evening, the day started with a Best Guy competition held at the Sunnybank Social Club, the entrants were of a great standard this year as follows:
“Flower Pot” by Clare Whitaker.
“Alan Sugar” by James & Sally Isherwood.
“Him & Her” by Cloe, Megan & Jed Duignan.
“Pumpkin Head & Dude” by the Scouts
“Simon” by Lewis Cook, Lucie Ireland & Jamie Moore.
“Mayor” by the Youth Council.
“Amy” by Bethan, Lauren & Becky, Sammy Ravenscroft.
The entrants were judged by Jackie Hale from Silsden Methodist Church, and David Austin from St James Church Silsden, the eventual winner was “Mayor” by the Youth Council which donated the first place cash prize to the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal so many thanks to them and all participants in this fun event.
All the guys following the judging took the short trip up to the Bonfire site and got pride of place at the top of the Bonfire, pictures are available in the gallery section of this and the rest of the evening. Thanks again for all the support that we recieved from everyone to make this a memorable evening for everyone.
